Cookie Policy
Cookie Policy
This policy covers cookies and similar storage on the LoomLane websites — the marketplace site, store-branded sites, and the web versions of our seller and admin applications.
The LoomLane mobile apps do not use cookies. They use equivalent on-device storage for the same purposes, described in §3.
1. What these are
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. "Similar technologies" means anything that does the same job — local storage, session storage, and device identifiers.
We use them for a small number of specific things, listed below. We do not use them to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell what they tell us.
2. What we use, and why
Strictly necessary — always on
Without these the site cannot work, so they are not optional.
| Purpose | What it does |
|---|---|
| Session and sign-in | Keeps you signed in as you move between pages |
| Security | Protects against cross-site request forgery and abuse |
| Load balancing | Routes your requests to a healthy server |
| Consent record | Remembers the cookie choices you made, so we do not ask again |
Functional — improves the experience
| Purpose | What it does |
|---|---|
| Preferences | Remembers your language, and your light or dark theme |
| Recently viewed | Lets you pick up where you left off |
| Shopping bag | Keeps your bag between visits |
Analytics — how the site is used
Where enabled, these tell us which pages are used and where people get stuck, in aggregate. We use this to fix what is broken, not to identify you.
What we do not use
We do not run advertising or third-party tracking cookies on LoomLane. No ad networks, no retargeting pixels, no cross-site advertising identifiers. If that ever changes, this policy will change first and we will ask for your consent before setting them.
3. In the mobile apps
The apps store the equivalent locally on your device: your sign-in tokens, your preferences, your bag, and a notification token so we can send you order updates. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes them.
4. Your choices
In your browser. Every major browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, and open a private window that keeps nothing. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break sign-in and checkout — that is a limitation of how the web works, not a choice we made.
On the site. Where we offer a cookie banner, you can accept or decline the non-essential categories, and change your mind later from the same control.
In the apps. Sign out to clear your session. Notifications can be turned off for the LoomLane app in your device settings.
5. Third parties
A small number of service providers set storage of their own when their functionality is on the page — our payment gateway during checkout, and our content delivery network for security and performance. They act on our instructions for these purposes. Our payment gateway's own notice governs what it does during a payment.
6. Changes
We publish a new version of this policy when it changes, with its own effective date; earlier versions stay available at their permanent links.
