Account & Data Deletion
Account & Data Deletion
You can delete your LoomLane account and your personal data. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and what we are required to keep.
1. Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest route and needs nothing from us.
- Open the LoomLane app
- Go to Profile → Edit profile
- Choose Delete account
- Confirm with the one-time password sent to your registered mobile number
The OTP step is there to make sure it is really you — an account deletion that anyone could trigger would be a security hole, not a convenience.
2. Request deletion without the app
If you cannot access the app or have already uninstalled it, write to hello@loomlane.org from the email address on your account, or with your registered mobile number, and ask us to delete your account.
We will verify that the request is genuinely yours before acting on it — we will not delete an account on an unverified request, because doing so would let someone else destroy your order history.
Include: your registered mobile number, your name, and a sentence saying you want your account and personal data deleted.
3. What gets deleted
- Your profile — name, email, date of birth, preferences
- Your saved addresses
- Your saved items, collections and wishlists
- Photographs you uploaded for virtual try-on, and try-on images generated for you
- Try-on person profiles you created
- Your conversations with Meera
- Posts, comments and content you created in community spaces
- Your browsing, search and personalisation history
- Device tokens and notification preferences
- Contacts you imported, if you are a Business Women member
4. What we have to keep, and why
Deletion is not absolute, and it would be dishonest to imply otherwise. Some records must survive because a law requires it:
| What | Why | For how long |
|---|---|---|
| Order, invoice and payment records | Indian tax, GST and corporate law require a business to keep its books | The period those laws prescribe |
| KYC and verification records, for sellers and affiliate members | Verification law | The period that law prescribes |
| Records of grievances and how they were resolved | Evidence of complaint handling | The period required to evidence it |
| Records tied to a live dispute, investigation or legal claim | We cannot destroy evidence in a live matter | Until it is resolved |
Where we must keep a record, we remove what identifies you from it wherever the law allows — so what remains is a transaction, not a person.
Money still owed to you, and money you still owe, are not extinguished by deleting your account.
5. Timing
Deletion begins as soon as it is confirmed. Your account is closed and you are signed out immediately. The underlying data is removed through our deletion pipeline shortly afterwards; some copies in backups age out on the backup cycle rather than being erased individually, and those backups are not used to restore deleted accounts.
We will confirm when deletion is complete.
6. This cannot be undone
There is no restore. If you sign up again with the same mobile number, you get a new, empty account — not your old one. Your order history, credit balance, saved items and community posts do not come back.
Before you delete, consider:
- Any unused LoomLane credit, gift-card value or referral reward is forfeited
- Orders in flight still need to be delivered or returned — it is usually better to wait until they are settled
- If you only want to stop hearing from us, you can turn off notifications for the LoomLane app in your device settings instead
7. Deleting only some of your data
You do not have to delete everything. In the app you can:
- Delete individual try-on photographs, and whole person profiles, from the try-on screen
- Remove saved addresses, from Profile → Addresses
- Delete reflections you wrote, and tables you created
Withdrawing your try-on consent is done by removing your photographs — when you hold none, the consent is withdrawn and recorded as withdrawn. See the AI Features & Photo Processing page.
If there is something else you want removed and you cannot find a way to do it yourself, write to us at hello@loomlane.org and we will do it.
8. Questions
